A Chair Makeover!

Hi everyone, something different to share with you today.  I have wanted a chair in my bedroom for ages and I have been looking round the charity shops but they always seem to be in sets of 4.  The other Saturday when I went into King's Lynn I went in the Heart Foundation shop which have a great selection of second hand furniture and saw this chair all by it's self for sale for £10.  At that price I had to buy it as I thought it was a real bargain!

When I got it home I decided to paint it the same afternoon and put on 2 coats of Annie Sloan paint in paris grey.   Annie Sloan paint is great as you don't need to do any rubbing down or add a primer you just paint straight onto the wood.  It will go over varnish and it even works well on laminate furniture too. I finished off with 1 coat of Annie Sloan clear wax which you must use to stop it chipping and it was all done in just 1 afternoon.

Well I say all done, when I was in town I also spotted some gorgeous fabric in the fabric shop which was just the right colours for my bedroom so on Sunday morning I whizzed up a cushion cover.
This is my finished chair all in place in my bedroom.

Thanks to everyone that has been leaving me comments, they are really appreciated. I'm sorry I have not been very good at returning comments at the moment but I have been sorting out sponorship for the Winter Wonderland Challenge so this is taking up my blogging time in the evening.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Caravan Cushion ...............

Hi everyone I have a sewing project to share with you today.  I made this cushion for my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary yesterday.  They have a caravan so I thought it would go nicely in there. I drew the caravan myself and then traced all the pieces out onto fabric.  I really enjoyed making it although it did take quite a while but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Another Double Scrapbook Layout .......

Hi everyone, well that's another week whizzed by and sadly the end of my holiday.  I have a funeral tomorrow morning and then work in the afternoon. It has been a really wet cold day here in Norfolk, I gave up and put the heating on this afternoon.  I know some people won't turn their heating on until October but I hate being cold so whether it's August or not the heating went on!  I think I will need my hot water bottle tonight as well as it's so cold and I can't get my feet to warm up. Oh I do sound like an old lady don't I lol!

Anyway onto my layout, this is made with the same sketch as the layout in my previous post.  These double layouts work well for photos for holiday's as I always take loads! These photos are from last year's holiday at a day out to Le Mont, Saint Michel in France which is a very strange place. It was once a village on a tiny island that gets cut off by the sea but now it is a tourist attraction.  It was a shame it was filled with souvenir shops as there was such a lot of history there.

A Scrapbook Page and a Holiday Photo ............

Hi everyone, my blog has been quiet as we have been away on holiday to Majorca for a week.  We had a great time with lovely hot weather.   I can't believe how the weather has changed now we are home, we went away and left summer weather and it feels like Autumn since we have been home. I had to wear a fleece today for the first time in weeks!  Anyway I shouldn't complain as we have had a fairly good summer this year.

My layout is of a recent visit to a Dinosaur park.  I have not done a double page layout for ages but they are great for when you have lots of photos to scrap which always happen to me as I'm always busy snapping on days out.   The sketch is an older one from Shimelle.com.  I made another layout using this same layout from my holiday from last year but I will share that one with you later in the week.

The picture is one of the 3 of us on holiday.  Grace loved holiday so much she cried her eyes out on the night we got home as see wanted to go back to Majorca!

I hope to get caught up on all your blogs soon and see all your lovely makes!

Thanks for stopping by.

A Scrapbook Page ..............

Hi everyone,  I've a scrapbook page to share with you tonight that I made a few weeks ago now. These photos were taken at Grace's first ballet show last year. She is in the middle in both photos. Grace really enjoyed being in the show and it was certainly lovely for me to get to see Grace on stage.  Her and her little ballet friends were so sweet!

I'm sorry I've not been returning comments or doing much blogging but my Mum is in hospital at the moment with heart problems so I've been visiting nearly every night.  She is improving slowly but I'm not sure how much longer she will be in for.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Frozen Card and A Sweetie Cart

Hi everyone, I have a frozen card to share with you tonight which I made for my little niece Anya for her birthday a few weeks ago.  My little Grace and her cousin Anya are just mad on frozen so I thought I had to make a frozen themed card!

My blog has been quiet for the last few weeks as I've been very busy setting up a new sweet cart business with my friend.  We did our first fair yesterday with our sweetie cart selling sweetie gifts which was very good fun but it has been a lot of work so I've not got round to doing much blogging lately.

This is a picture of our sweetie cart whom we have called Florence or Flo for short named after our favourite tea shop!

We think she is very pretty!
